Ranch Fox Information

    Dear Rancher,

I think everyone will agree with the New Years quote of “Good Riddance 2020”. Lockdowns and border closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic caused many disruptions for businesses. Your auction house which depends on open borders that enable buyers from around the world to attend our sales was especially hard hit. With the forced cancellation of our March sale, FHA created an online auction and overall the sale was successful in achieving some much needed sales for our shippers. We moved our May auction to late August with the hope that the borders would reopen and we would be able to host a regular auction again.  In the end, self isolation rules made it impossible for foreign buyers to attend this auction. The sale went ahead as scheduled with Canadian brokers who had orders from fur manufacturers from around the world. FHA tried to make the best out of a very difficult situation. The development of the online auction and sample photo gallery are innovations that will be valuable in future auctions.

We look forward to having live auctions in 2021. We are pleased that American Mink Exchange will be marketing their premier collection of ranch mink with us on our April auction. FHA will be also offering a fine collection of Canadian ranch mink. The world has changed considerably now as there will be a significantly smaller ranch mink crop available. Our additional offering of the finest ranch mink in the world will ensure that our auction will be very well attended. This will help all species including ranch fox.

Today, North American Fox ranchers are a small but dedicated group, that produce a high quality product that consists of the right mix of silvers, crosses and mutations.  This attractive, well rounded collection is creating a nice niche in FHA’s overall assortment of diverse furs and allows buyers the advantage of one stop shopping.

2020 was a difficult year for our buyers as well as they made their purchases with an uncertain future in front of them. Most are now reporting to us that after a slow start, their sales ended strong.

We remain hopeful that with rollout of the vaccine and increased testing at our airports our auctions will go ahead as planned and will be well attended.

The management and staff at FHA would like to thank you for trusting us in marketing your ranch fox.

Wishing you the Best in 2021.
